Flower Power: Announcing a New Partnership Focusing on Cut Flowers

Thursday, January 17, 2013

We're joining forces with The Seattle Wholesale Growers Market and cut flower growers in Oregon and Washington to develop higher value local markets for cut flowers sourced regionally and grown in an environmentally sustainable manner, rather than imported from South America.

Salmon-Safe and The Seattle Wholesale Growers Market offered one-day workshops in January and February for cut flower growers in Oregon and Washington with the goal of transitioning interested growers to Salmon-Safe certificaiton. For more information, email Diane Szukovathy or call 206-290-3154.

The project is presented by The Seattle Wholesale Growers Market, Stewardship Partners, and Salmon-Safe. Supported by a USDA Multi-State Specialty Crop Block Grant through the Oregon Department of Agriculture and the Washington State Department of Agriculture.
